Calling all canines, family and friends – we are celebrating ‘A Very Valley Market Christmas’ in true Fortitude Valley style on Saturday 20 November, 9am – 2pm. Come one and all for a Christmas celebration like no other in Winn Lane, Bakery Lane, California Lane and the Brunswick Street Mall. You can also jingle all the way to the Institute of Modern Art (IMA) who will be joining us on our market trail to ramp up the celebrations.

Brunswick Street Mall
Get into the Christmas shopping spirit early and shop one-of-a-kind, handmade artisan gifts on our Valley Laneway Market trail. You’ll find candles, plants, earrings, vintage clothes and vinyl records and so much more.

Bakery Lane
Feast at Bakery Lane – a foodies paradise with so much to choose – from dumplings to chicken katsu curries, gnocchi, waffles and cupcakes, to some of the best darn breakfasts in Brissy. All this against a backdrop of live music from local musicians, along with a plethora of fashion, ceramics and aromatic stall holders.

Our Christmas family market entertainment extravaganza begins with the Ba(r)kery Lane Dog Parade for the dogs and dog families of Brisbane! Bringing back the legendary ‘Winn Lane Dog Show’, pet owners will have the opportunity to enter their fur child into the ultimate doggie showcase – a catwalk event with winning prizes. Let your dog strut down the runway and charm the judges, with the best dog in the show taking home a Dog Grooming Session valued at $100. All doggies to enter will receive a special homemade doggy treat. BOOK HERE to enter. For the kids to also get in on the fun we’ll be giving away a festive treat for the first 20 kids to come and enjoy the show. There’s more!  – in amongst our artisan stalls, Puptopia, a local groomer will be giving a free mini groom throughout the day to ‘zhoosh’ up your furry friend.

Winn lane
Just in case you didn’t get your fill of sweet treat and delicious beats at Bakery Lane, we’ve got you covered in Winn with Chef Shaquelle’s Comfort Baking and Sweets – enjoy special baked Kiwi favourites for all those longing to get over the ditch this Christmas. And just to share the love this season Chef Shaquelle will be handing out fresh fairy floss to the littlies. There’ll be a twinkle in your eye when you checkout fashion favourites Forge Forward, Practice Studio, LJC Designs and the Uncommon store and snag your very own unique fashion find for your festive get-togethers. For those looking to really sink their teeth into something, Ben’s Burgers are the best around.

California Lane
Follow the streets to California Lane, where ‘Santa Claus’ or ‘Santa Paws’ for our furry friends is coming to town – get a free professional photo and make the annual family photo one to remember this Christmas. ‘Mimosa Morning’ anyone before, during and after your market explores? You’ve come to the right place! From 10.30 a.m. catch a cheeky cocktail at Duke’s On Brunswick, while you kick back and enjoy a little extra something with singer, songwriter and violinist Sofia Isella at 12.30 p.m. Returning to the California Lane stage after her performance at Hidden Lanes, she will delight market goers with her original indie pop tunes like Block Ur Ex Plz Thx and What Dress Will I Wear.

Institute of Modern Art
To celebrate our last Laneway market of the year – (Don’t worry we’ll be popping up nearby in air-conditioned comfort for our December markets), we are joining forces with our neighbour the Institute of Modern Art (IMA) to add their foyer and forecourt to our market trail. The IMA stalls will include makers from their own carefully curated store as well as some of our regulars making it a great stop for a handmade Chrissy shop! While you there catch the IMA’s free exhibition ‘See/Through’ by Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan. It’s a taste of things to come, as the IMA will continue to join us on market days to provide another stop on our market trail right throughout 2022.
